The Coronavirus is a highly contagious and deadly virus, as of July 2020, this virus has no vaccination. WHO has claimed this virus to be highly mutable and thus the delay in the discovery of a vaccine. The existence of this virus came on papers when it was identified in Wuhan, China, in the Hubei province. December 2019 was when the first case of Covid-19 recorded. This airborne disease is now a global pandemic that has affected millions of people across the world. This virus is said to affect the lungs leaving the person panting for breath then it is associated with symptoms like fever, cold, cough, fatigue and finally results in death.

The virus is fast spreading and is considered to be deadly, here are a few lifestyle changes that will help you stay safe during the pandemic,

Wash your hands.
One of the age-old hygiene practices that were taught to us in schools and by our parents and this is easily one thing that has been taken for granted over time is washing our hands.

Remember to wash your hands with warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds. Make sure to clean your wrists, back of your hand, in-between your fingers and your fingertips.

  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Our hands are indeed the carriers of germs, bacteria, viruses, etc, as we tend to touch a lot of things in our daily life, like
  • Mobile phones
  • Doorknobs
  • Lift switches
  • Groceries etc

These may or may not contain the virus, to be on the safer side it is always better to avoid touching your face as the virus enters the system through the nostrils, eyes and mouth. We also recommended you to sanitize your hands at regular intervals.

Avoid shaking hands or hugging your friends.
Shaking hands and hugging each other has been a way of greeting people and a form of good manners, it is not advisable to shake hands, hug, or even touch anyone while the virus is active. It is difficult to find if the person has contracted the virus or not, as for some people COVID19 is asymptomatic, so it is always better to maintain a safe distance from everyone.

  • Let Social Distancing be your power word.
  • The virus can easily be transmitted from one person to another hence maintaining a safe distance in public, while at the grocery store, workplace etc. It is only appropriate to stay home right now or maintain a healthy distance from the person next to you.
  • Do not be a part of a big group
  • Avoid parties and get-togethers
  • Avoid going to crowded places or boarding buses that are too crowded.
  • Stay at a safe distance at all times.

Implement the usage of masks
We in India have never been exposed to the idea of using masks at any time but considering the narrow streets and apartments where people live in groups, the family members need to take the necessary precautions when they step out. They should remember you are coming back to your family and not wearing a mask could put their lives at risk.
Think wise and act likewise.

Sanitize your groceries, parcels, food packages etc.
It is very important to sanitize your groceries, parcel, food packages etc as they are being handled by a lot of people and you being the end person or the one who is receiving it we are prone to being on the vulnerable side.

So, when it comes to sanitising the packages, it is easy and is done using disinfectants and is done on the surface. But how would you sanitise your fruits and vegetables?

If you are wondering, it can be done easily using ozone. When lightning passes through oxygen it produces ozone. This ozone has the power to sterilize the fruits and vegetables and provide you with fresh produce.
Not only at the time of the pandemic, but it is also very important to sanitise our fruits and vegetables on a regular basis, considering all the processing and pesticides thrown in the growth stage.

Let us not let the pandemic get the best of us. Stay home, Stay Healthy.
